Exhibit A: Star Wars Mouse Pad
This was custom mouse pad order sent to Vista Print. Within minutes of using it the deterioration began. It’s been 2 weeks now and you can see my dollar hasn’t gone very far. Oh wait, I just found a note in the box that I should have read before using. It says, “Using a mouse on this pad is not recommended.” Ah shucks, I should have seen that.

Does anybody drink Special Roast coffee? I don’t think so. You know why? Because it’s telling you it’s special. No one likes a coffee ground that thinks too highly of itself.
The idea of calling something “special” is the last attempt at trying to make a profit off a failed taste. Everything from Classic, French, Breakfast, and House are blends that we can understand. You slap a “Special” sticker on that sucker and you might as well just read “Surprise,” and that’s something I’m not ready for in the morning.
